AMBITION

Ambition. I used to think this was a bad word. I didn’t want it associated with me for…..well, mainly for fear of what people would think.

I felt shame for having it. “Who does she think she is?” I felt unworthy. Who does she think she is?” I felt fear of the stigma of being a strong and successful woman. “Who does she think she is?

And yet, look at the definition of Ambition! Ambition is a strong desire to do or achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work.

I have that! I have the strong desire to win. I have determination. I am a hard worker! I am all of these…and it feels good! It feels good to set a goal and achieve it! It feels good to be recognized for my accomplishments. It feels good to believe in myself.

So, ambition is no longer a bad word in my dictionary. I encourage it! You’re going to need ambition to achieve your goals here at Symmetry. You’re going to need belief in yourself, determination and hard work. Which will lead to feeling proud of your accomplishments.

Embrace Your Ambition!

With Pride,
